Some reissues strike us deep. Maybe because we have a childhood memories with the sneaker, or it brings us back to a time we were fond of, when Michael Jordan would make us dream of flying, Michael Jackson of moonwalking, and a Fresh Will Smith would invite us into his Bel Air home every day to witness his antics. The Nike Air Flight 89 Quickstrike has the power to conjure all these images.
Baring similarities to its relative, the classic Jordan IV, with regards to the flight logo and sole design, the Nike Air Flight 89 Quickstrike was the first sneaker to represent Nike Basketball’s ‘Flight’ wing . Worn by Michael Jordan on a few occasions but actually endorsed by Ron Harper, the Air Flight was quite the departure from the Air Force One, what had been the basketball shoe of reference of the time.
For the NBA All-Star Weekend 2012, Nike has released this Nike Air Flight 89 as a limited edition Quickstrike release in an exclusive Black/Zen Grey-Cool Grey colourway.
Stock is limited so if you want to wear these 89, better grab them soon!
